Inspection lot can be created in different ways

  • we can create it using QA01
  • by IP10 t-code by maintaining the maintenance plan.
  • by production order
  • by Goods receipt
  • Manual creation
  • By monitoring the materials managed in batches
  • Goods movement with in the company
  • etc..

  • Variant configuration helps describe different versions of complex products, like cars.
    - It uses a special material to create these different versions.
    - There’s a big list of all possible parts and a list of all possible steps to make the product.
    - We use characteristics to describe each version, like the color of a car.
    - These characteristics help pick the right parts and steps.
    - We can also use these characteristics to make sure the product is made correctly.
    - To do this, we connect each characteristic to a quality check.
    - We can use this quality check when we get products from a supplier or during the production process.
    - If we have quality checks from both the characteristics and the regular product info, we use the characteristic ones first.
    - If we don’t have those, then we use the regular product info.
    - We can also use these characteristics to choose which parts to use and what steps to follow in making the product.

  • Inspection specs from batch determination used in outbound delivery.
  • Specs from batch determination combined with task list and material specs.
  • If specs exist in both batch determination and material/task list, batch determination specs have priority.
  • Material/task list specs have priority over task list specs.

Inspection:

You record inspection results for the planned inspection characteristics in the inspection lot.

The characteristics or inspection points are completed and valuated, based on the inspection specifications.

The results are updated in the statistics and can be used for quality control purposes. You can evaluate and monitor this data using the QM Information System (QMIS).

If problems are identified during the inspection, you can use the defects recording function to document them and then activate a quality notification to process these problems.

RESULT RECORDING PROCESS

Inspection lot completion:

Once the inspection results have been recorded, the inspection lot is completed with the usage decision. The usage decision specifies whether the lot is accepted or rejected. The system can automatically make inventory postings on the basis of the usage decision.

The quality level is updated based on the inspection results. The system uses this quality level to determine the inspection stage for the next inspection of the material or of the combinations material-vendor/manufacturer or material/customer. The time of dynamic modification that you have defined determines when the quality level is to be updated.

Digital Signature for the completion of lot process:

Area QM: Saving inspection results for an inspection lot, recording and changing the usage decision for an inspection lot, confirming the drawing of physical samples for an inspection lot manually.

ECH area (engineering change management): Changing the status of an engineering change request before object processing, releasing an engineering change order.

Process manufacturing area: Completing a workstep in the PI sheet, accepting invalid values in input validations in the PI sheet, approving a batch record.
